Fling

You thought it was just a fling
You were wrong
When she walks into the room
There’s the way you look at her
The way you smile to yourself
You don’t think she sees
      But I do
When you say her name
She notices the change in your voice
In your eyes
You thought it was just a fling
But your touch tells the truth
She can feel you shiver against her skin
You don’t think she can tell
      But I can
We thought it was just a fling
      But two years later
      We were wrong
